Here is my review of Quantum Break for Feminist Frequency.
At a moment in time when another game is getting a lot of (intensely negative) attention for having a trans character in a very minor role, I think we should at least be willing to interrogate why so many of the archetypes in stories like this–the reclusive, eccentric genius, the evil, powerful CEO, and so on–are so often men, and usually white men at that. The visionaries, the movers and doers. The people who really drive the story. And what kinds of roles does this leave for others?
