That moment in Battlefield Hardline when your captain literally says, after your partner assaulted a man and you arrested or shot many, many criminals, “There’s going to be some complaints about the Elmore (Hotel). Excessive force, etc etc. Don’t worry about it.”
Is it a power fantasy or a waking nightmare?
Game narratives almost always internally justify your actions, addressing and attempting to dismiss any concerns you might have. That doesn’t mean the questions aren’t worth asking.
